Established by a congressional resolution in 1983, the US. Travel Association’s National Travel and Tourism Week aims to champion the power of the travel industry. Each year, professionals travel across the nation to promote and explain the impact that travel markets and companies are having on the U.S. economy.
This year’s event theme was “Faces of Travel.” The entire event focused on the men and women who have made the travel and tourism industry the powerhouse it is today. We were excited to hear that in honor of the “Faces of Tourism,” Visit Sarasota County (VSC) brought back an awards program recognizing those professionals within the industry who go “above and beyond” to ensure visitors always have a positive and remarkable experience in Sarasota County. All nominees were nominated by their peers except for the Voice of Sarasota who is selected by the VSC Board of Directors.
