Airbnb Agrees To Collect Hotel Taxes In Another Huge U.S. City

In an ongoing effort to combat oppressive regulations, Airbnb has announced that the company will now collect hotel taxes from its property owners in the Los Angeles area. As Airbnb’s Los Angeles Policy Manager John Choi explains: “‘These agreements allow cities to rightfully benefit in the economic impact of home sharing while also making it easier for Airbnb hosts…to comply with local tax laws.’” Airbnb’s cooperative gesture may be replicated in other large cities where such tax collecting endeavors have yet to be implemented.
