Instant Booking for Short-Term Rentals is Gaining Popularity

Consumers prefer to book their vacation rental homes instantaneously, and it’s driving vacation rental companies to satisfy the demand for this feature. In the past, it was common for hosts to have 24 hours to determine whether to accept a guest, but even HomeAway (one of the major companies that encouraged this practice) may soon allow more of its properties to be instantly bookable. TurnKey CEO, T.J. Clark states, “‘more than half of our bookings are instant bookings, which we like and encourage.’” Although opposition from some vacation rental owners and property management companies persists, instantly bookable rentals are poised to become the industry standard.
